Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who launched the fifth generation (5G) wave service in the country, proudly said that a new era has begun with this.
He also said that the central government is working with the aim of making internet service available to all.
Prime Minister Modi launched the 5G service at the India Mobile Conference held in Delhi on Saturday. In the first phase, it is planned to provide 5G service in 13 cities namely Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Pune, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Sandeagh, Ahmedabad and Jamnagar.

In the programme, Prime Minister Modi said: 130 crore people in the country have received the gift of 5G. A new era has started in the country with 5G. 5G has emerged as the beginning of countless opportunities. 5G technology can share data at many times higher speed than 4G technology. 5G can connect multiple devices simultaneously.
5G technology will not only increase internet speed but also change the quality of life for many people. 5G technology will revolutionize several fields, including medicine, education, agriculture and disaster management.

India was dependent on other countries for 2G, 3G and 4G technologies. But India has made history by developing 5G technology domestically. India has set the international standard for telecom technology for the first time by introducing 5G technology.
‘Engama India’: The central government’s ‘Engama (Digital) India’ program is based on four pillars namely equipment cost, internet connectivity, internet service cost and eight services. The main objective of the ‘New India’ project is to develop the country and equip the people with technological facilities.
The central government has taken steps to provide electricity, drinking water pipe connection and cooking gas cylinder to every house. Similarly, the central government is working to provide internet services to all.
Lower prices: In 2014, the number of mobile phone manufacturers was two. Due to various measures taken by the central government, the number has now crossed 200. Therefore, the price of mobile phones has dropped drastically.
Internet costs in India are the lowest in the world. In 2014, 1GB internet service cost Rs.300 but now it has come down to Rs.10. Each person in the country uses an average of 14 GB of internet service per month. As a result, their cost reduced from Rs.4,200 to Rs.150.
In the same period, the number of internet users increased from 6 crore to 80 crore. At present, 1.7 lakh villages in the country are connected through optical fiber. It was only 100 towns 8 years ago.
Octave Service: A few years ago, India did not export mobile phones. But currently devices worth crores are being exported. Online money transactions have also increased. This has been made possible due to various measures taken by the central government.
The central government has taken measures to make all the government services available to the people. From farmers to small shopkeepers, the government has provided the necessary services through apps. Prime Minister Modi said that such services were of great use during the Corona epidemic.
Demonstration: After launching the 5G service, Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone-Idea gave a demonstration to PM Modi about the benefits of 5G service.

Nationwide 5G service by 2023 – Jio
Reliance Jio Chairman Mukesh Ambani, who attended the conference, said, ‘Jio is committed to providing 5G services to all parts of the country by December 2023. Steps are being taken to provide affordable 5G service. Through 5G technology, the use of artificial intelligence will increase and India will play a major role in providing technology services internationally,” he said.
Jio will offer 5G service in Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata from Diwali.
5G service in 8 cities – Airtel
Bharti Airtel has announced that 5G services will be launched from Saturday in 8 cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi and Bengaluru.
In this regard, Sunil Bharti Mittal, Chairman of the company said, ‘5G service will be provided in various cities of the country by March 2023. The target has been set to deliver 5G service in all parts of the country by March 2024. 5G service is planned to be launched in every new city every day. The quality of service will also be continuously improved,’ he said.
5G service coming soon – Vodafone idea
Vodafone Idea has announced that the 5G service will be launched in the country soon. However, like Jio and Airtel companies, this company has not announced any specific target.
